Herokight Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 I finally got around to messing with Sketchup a little more, and I came up with this bandpass idea for 4 15s that would fit in my little Malibu. Overall box is 35.5x45.5x20". Each sealed side is 3.5cuft before displacement and ported section is 7.18cuft, bringing it to a 1.02:1 ratio before displacement, and around a 1.14:1 ratio after. The main plan is for a removable port and to have two or three ports to try out, tuned from 35-55hz. Does this even sound like a good idea? Zapanater Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Seems like you'd be choking the subs to me with not even 2 cubes per sub, but I haven't much experience with bandpass so don't hang on my word. The double bracing is kind of excessive. Use 2x2s in the corners so you can get more space in there. Did you use a program to model the tuning? 2015 Subaru Outback. That is all, I refuse to touch it.

It's not double bracing, it's two 3/4" layers put together to be 1.5" thick. I'm kinda going for a more musical box, but I still want to get loud. Peakiness bothers me ALOT.
