Nightshade Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 It may respond differently by building more internal pressure with 4 4" ports opposed to a single 8". Usually higher frequencies will play better with a larger port and lower freq's will do better with a smaller size port. Myself, for a daily opperation I use 4" ports. bkolfo4 Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 4 4" will have to be longer (~20" vs. ~17" for a 35 Hz tuning), but the 1 8" will need more clearance inside the box. Either one will work. How much clearance do u need from the SIDE walls to the inner flare? i know u need at least the diameter in front but what about the sides. Also will NOT using the inner flare make a great deal on the box performanace?
