My Comp Turns Off When Playing Counter Strike

Recommended Posts

Is there any dust clogging up your cpu heatsink at all?

Dust is a major enemy.

But if you tried all else and its still giving you a problem start with drivers..

Get the most up to date motherboard drivers, processor driver, video driver, sound driver, direct x.

It may make a difference.

Oh and are you running your card with vertical sync on or off? If its on turn it off!!!!!!

And depending on where you live check out my CSs server :) trying to get it popular!

If you still havent figured out wether or not its a heat issue, folow these steps.

1. Start playing CSS, what ever settings you want

2. Once it crashes, look at the time on your phone or clock or something

3. Restart computer and go to Control panel> Administrative tools> Event viewer.

4. Once thats open select the system log to show system errors.

5. Look for a log entry that occured at the same time that the computer shut down.

If it says the error was caused by hl2.exe or something similar try reinstalling and downloading all came updates.

Also get all the latest drivers for you soundcard and video card.

If there is not even at the time the computer shut off then it is more likely a power or heat problem.

my server seems to be pretty good.

Just doing a little tweaks on it right now actully. Ive got myself ftp server for fast server map downloads so it dont take forever to download a map from the game server itself.

Once you get your rig running good, and if you like the server, Ill be selling admin for $5 monthly.
