My Comp Turns Off When Playing Counter Strike

Recommended Posts

Everytime I start playing counter strike, my comp just shuts off after about 20 min. My friend thought it was the power supply cuz I had a 350watt PSU so I went out and bought a 700 watt PSU....but it still does it. It only does it when I play counter strike.

Any suggestions?

What accordman said

or

Your computer is over heating..

Check your heatsink on your processor and videocard and make sure there is no dust in it and the fans are moving freely

Also make sure your up to date with your video drivers and direct x settings. Although if you only play 1.6 it should be to hard on your computer compaired to cs:s performance wise.

unless it does it on other games too its not overheating. its prolly a driver error or something along those lines. my laptop freezes up only on one game and thats bf2142. i have played prolly 30 different games on this thing and it only does it on that game. i personally think its a video card prob.
