1996BLKBauer Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 I just stopped in to kill some time and found 100 feet of 16 gauge wire for $9.44, I got this for my remote wires for my 2 amps I will be installing soon. I also found that they have a 20ft roll of 2gauge wire for $39.49, and it was actually not all plastic jacket. It seemed to be pretty decent quality, and all of it said "Made in U.S.A.". So has anybody tried this stuff at all? Is it any good? 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 AWD So far with the Ford/JBL Stock Stereo system, Alpine System coming soon.
1996BLKBauer Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 Few things to mention here, usually 4 gauge wire is $1.99 a foot, not 2 gauge, also this stuff is not perfect for car audio, I went back after I posted this, and found it doe not nearly as much strands as the high quality stuff I have seen, but I lost count at well over 500, when a person working there asked me what I was doing. 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 AWD So far with the Ford/JBL Stock Stereo system, Alpine System coming soon.
Zapanater Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Hmm don't know about Farm and Fleet, but at Fleet Farm (haha) they got some goodies worth having. 0 gauge lugs for a buck, nice battery terminals and short 00 gauge pre soldered battery cables for a reasonable price. 2015 Subaru Outback. That is all, I refuse to touch it.
mttornquist Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 haha i sure hope 2 gauge has over 500 strands! lol gotta go check my local store tomorrow now. My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...lmost-complete/

I saw that too, 2/0 lugs, and 1/0 lugs, where 6 for $3, they where not coated, they where straight copper. They also had a 2.5-3 foot section of 2/0 batter cable for $17.99. if you plan on doing the "big 3", those short runs might be cheaper, then buying some other 1/0 wire. 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 AWD So far with the Ford/JBL Stock Stereo system, Alpine System coming soon.
