Jordan Guess Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 I have 2 DD 1508's and am struggling to get these to sound how I want them, and I know my problem is in the amp. They are DVC 4 ohm with the carbon fiber caps. What would be suffice power to run these? and by what brand?
Bump4life Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 a quality brand like AQ, DC, DD, sundown, SKAR, etc. alpine or rockford even. personally id run 2k to them as long as its clean unclipped power. (1k per woofer) but youd be fine with a 1500 watt amp. It was around $230 shipped from amazon(prices raised since then). It says it does 2000 watts@1ohm, 1300@2ohms. I'm not sure how true these ratings are but regardless the amp gets my sub loud. It never over heats, has plenty of vents, but the thing that throws me off about it is that it has no external fuses and I don't know if it has an internal fuse or if anyone even does that. The Hfi is a nice amp for the money but if your willing to shell out the money there are much nicer brands.
