bassface
If the amp is already fused then just install the max fuse rating for the cable you are using, be sure to fuse both ends of the cable also.

vettedude102
was planning 8 gauge wire, so what fuse rating would i be looking at? There used to be a thread on top of the electrical subforum that said what fuse to use per size of wire but I can't find it. bassface
50a fuse max, you will need 4 gauge wire im thinking. 530w is max power that can be run on a class d amp on an 8 gauge wire. http://www.bcae1.com/wire.htm Edited June 17, 2012 by bassface
vettedude102
But 2 15 amp fuses times 14.4(voltage) =432 watts That's all it'll be able to push. So technically 8 gauge will be fine. Edit: But I would rather do it in 4 gauge than 8 Edited June 17, 2012 by vettedude102 Quote 2 polk audio 4x6'skenwood head-unit 220 amp Mechman alt1979 Corvette 2003 corvette z06 alpine radio and the bose system that came stock

Ballen194
Use 4 gauge and don't fuse it. Just hope to yourself that you pop that POS so you can get a decent amp. bassface
Its a good estimate if the amp has built in fuses.
