Bump4life Posted June 19, 2012 Report Share Posted June 19, 2012 So I sold my DD 2510s and had my old pair of Alpine Type R 10s still that were being sold this week. So for old times sake I decided to put them in the car. They were put in the exact boxes my DDs were in driven by same power wired at same impedence. i thought they sounded pretty loud. I had to get on the TL to see if my ears wernt deceiving me. boxes are 1.5 net a piece double baffle tuned around 37 hz. Long story short. here are the results. all done on music. songs were put on and beamer benz or bentley for the DDs. for the alpines i used put on again, beamer benz or bentley, and for the 144 i used Krazy by lil jon power for both was a DD M1c at .5 ohm but actual load was .8 on both plus rise. also i had a 4 gauge OFC alt pos to bat pos in rear with type rs where as i did not with the DD Digital Design 2510s SC 138.1 @ 28 hz == Sealed 142.1 @ 35 hz == Sealed 142.4 @ 45 hz == Sealed 143.2 @ 45 hz == Drivers Window down halfway. Alpine Type R 10s 133.7 @ 28 hz == Sealed 141.3 @ 35 hz == Sealed 142.8 @ 44 hz == Sealed 144.1 @ 44 hz == Drivers Window down halfway. same box as DD i just spray painted black. there were differences in the tests. They were done on different days. and also for the alpines i moved my front seat up all the way and to an upright position. I think that helped a lot. I dont want anyone to see this and be like ohh Alpine is better than DD now. this is not meant to be a vs thread or a company bashing thread. Just for this particular install I had these results. As we can see the DD 10s were low end monsters where the alpines fell of dramatically. Just some food for thought!! so yea. interesting. 9512s coming soon!! stay tuned for build log!!! I'm going to go ahead and assume you beauty paneled the box for the DDs? Also, I noticed you were firing in. Did you seal it off or is that what you really scored with all of that cancelation? Did you seal it off or is that what you really scored with all of that cancelation? beauty paneled the box for DDs aha. didnt put it on for the type rs because just put them in quick for a test run. i was selling them next day. and it was louder when i fired forward and pushed boxes all the way back then when i fired subs back at trunk.
