DAMN... those caps hold your voltage pretty well.

Interesting to see how slow they charge/drain when you start or stop the engine.

:good:

You know you're going to piss off a lot of cap-haters out there don't ya...? :P

You can see how fast they charge up if you watch the video all the way through. I'm not sure how slow they drain though. I'll know tomorrow morning. I could go to the grocery store, come back out, and my voltage would still be at 16.

Haha that's the plan!. Idk... I like doing things that people say won't work. Supertweets don't sound good / you need to make pods in the pillar / caps don't work / you can't run 14v. Well I've done all those things as an upgrade. The haters can go find a corner and mope :drink40:

where did you get those caps? That is some crazy shit. Like everyone says you can see an improvement if you do it right...

Haha you can find ANYTHING on eBay. I can get you a link if you want it. Just do a search for supercaps and you should be able to find these and similar ones ;)

Driving around today, I can say my car turns over quite a bit faster compared to just a single d1400. Similar to the difference going from 12 to 14v.

Oh yeah.... Resistors for balancing

HUGE shoutout to Wicks for sharing some info about this.

It took a little while since I soldered everything, but it's done :D

Thanks Dude. :good:

Glad I could help, if it worked.

I'm curious though.

I'd be a great real world test to actually see if those resistors balance the voltage?

Might need a fairly accurate meter that can hit millivolts but could you charge up the caps without the resistors and measure the voltage on each cap. Then again with the resistors.

Did you go 10x or 100x?

DAMN...those things discharge QUICK!!

Now you're makin' me want some... :D

PS... Looks like you have a couple 6-packs of Bud Light in the trunk.

Watch out for the cops!

:P

Hah! "Is that beer you have in the back" "No, officer, it's a capacitor bank" "......"

I'm at 5x right now and will work my way up as needed. It needs some *Slight* balancing right now. Most of the caps read within .01v of eachother, but the ones near the back of the car - that are only stacked 1 high read .05v higher than the rest. So we'll see how long it takes to come down
