SA-8 V2 Box question.

I just received my SA-8 V2s My question is what would be better, or what would you recommend place both subs in one box or have two boxes one for each? I have a Reg. Cab GMC Sierra, I plan on installing them behind the seats. What are the pros and cons of each set up?

Put both in the same box if you are porting them, as you'll need less space alot less space,

You'll need around 17x17,10h for 1 sub if you are porting, but only a bit more if it's for 2

You'll want for a common chamber box

18-21sq" of port at 1.2cuft net depending on power

800rms 20sq" port @1.4net or

800rms 18sq" @ 1.2net(to save space)

1000rms 20sq" port @ 1.2-1.4net

1200rms 20sq" port @ 1.2-1.3net

1500rms 21sq" port @ 1.2net

I've found 20 @1.2 net to have less of a peeky sound if tuned below 33flat

But if you have the power Tune as low as 30hz

If you post some meserments and amp you useing I'll be able to help you out some more

I wanted to tune it to 30HZ maybe 28 if possible. the space i have is 54x10x7x14, and I'll be using a SAZ 1500D

Be warned

Running that low with the sa8 will mean you'll need a good set of mids to pick up the slack as they will drop off of quite sharp after 50-60hz

At 32-33 you -3 is around 25 and 60-70hz

In 1.2net and if you use a bigger box it will peek more so there will be a more noticeable drop off

would i have to add extra mid bass driver if i have components?

If you tune 30 and under I'd say yes but you could do with out you'll notice a volume difference in higher freq, about 50-60hz

32-33hz no as you can get good volume up to 60-70 and your components can take over from 100hz

I've got mine tuned 32-33hz, LP @ 70 and 6.5 components HP @ 100 and it all good

If you don't mine a bit more peek in the lower hz tune to 35-36 and you'll play to 80hz no worries but at 33-40 you will be loud a hell

I found it somewhat annoying, as there will be a huge volume difference between songs,

If you have the space I would build a t-line at 35-37hz

For 2 idd build

80-85sq" of port 90-100" long

In 2-300 rms each

Don't tune that low on those subs, 28 or 30 Hz? Tune from 33-35 and you'll be happier with it. What are the dimensions you're willing to work with behind your seats?

He's in a regular cab pickup, he has NO room for a transmission line behind the seat.

54x10x7x14 is the measurements I have.

I have read around an I think I will tune higher maybe 33.
