What should I use to brace my box? Are there some things that work better then others? Let me know.

Oh and I was also wondering what should the dimensions of my port be if my vehicle peaks at 46 hz? My box is around 12 cubic feet, one chamber, and I am doing subs up port near rear glass in the center of the box, and I just don't know how big to make it.

you can get it at almost any hardware store, heres a pic to help u

trbb-trb.jpg

just drill a hole on both sides of ur box run the rod through on the inside of ur box ur goin to put a washer and nut on it then on the outside washer and nut and just tightin all four nuts and ur box will barely flex, i recommend puttin some resin on ur nut and washer on the inside just to seal it off

I try not to use bracing. Just double, triple or even quadruple your wood thickness if you're after SPL. Sometimes internal bracing can hurt.

Exactly right. Sometimes bracing will cause destructive turbulence. Well what I should say, all bracing adds turbulence but some may not be noticeable at all. Some might totally kill your airflow, eg. if you put a big 2x4 in front of your port it won't be doing any good.

i 2 figure that 2x4s would hurt. which it does you can use the all thread rods they are round and has less resistances. and works way better than any other method. you can also add glass to the inside of the box to seal it off and 45 the corners as well (inside the enclosure)
