audioman21
I was looking at these 4 amps and had a few questions. Here are the following amps Kicker zx1500.1, Rockford T 1500-1BD, Sundown 1500, Rockford T1000BD. I'll list the questions as follows.................ok the Rockford 1500 and Sundown are 1500-2000 watts at 1 ohm the Kicker is roughly the same but at 2 ohms. Now wouldn't the kicker be more efficient at the 2 ohms rather than the amps at 1 ohm and be less of a draw/strain on the electricals with around the same output? Why does the Rockford T1000BD have 1/0 inputs if the Rockford 1500 and the Kicker 1500 put out more power? Whats the usual output at 1 ohm on the T1000BD. AI James
the sundown does have 1/0 output, so i dunno where you got your information
audioman21
Sorry I wasn't paying attention when I typed it but I re-worded that part.
AI James
its all manufacturer choice, either way you can simply buy some cheap reducers

audioman21
I was just curious because I figured why not run an amp at 2 ohms and get better efficiency with less strain than an amp with the same power at 1 ohm. I just thought I'd jot this down on here to see if there was another factor or something i didn't know about.
AI James
if that was totally true kicker would have more business then every 1ohm amp company in the world, the simplistic thinking of that is correct but theres alot more to it. Derrick824
Why does the Rockford T1000BD have 1/0 inputs if the Rockford 1500 and the Kicker 1500 put out more power? Whats the usual output at 1 ohm on the T1000BD. The RF T10001bd is severely under-rated and is good for at least 1400-1500watts. The RF T1500-1bd is more efficient therefore RF says that it only needs 4awg power wire. It is also slightly under-rated and supposed to be good for 1600-1700watts. All these amps are close in power output. If you're looking for cheapest cost go for the RF T10001bd. If you want the most available power at 1ohm go for the RF T1500-1bd. If you want power at 2ohm go for the Kicker 1500.1. If you plan to ever run at an impedance lower than 1ohm then get the Sundown.
dmanson
yeh it's sort of a hard choice seeing all four of the amps will put out just the same amount of juice. personnally i'd do the RF 1500-1bd because of the size and power ........... but that's just me.
