Use a line driver and call it a day

Yep.

2v is lame

Agreed.

This is why I use Line Driver EQs that put out 12 volts. LOL!!! :D And set everything up with an O-Scope.

Some equipment likes it, and some does NOT. Just have to mess with it to find out.

High voltage pre-outs can help avoid amplifying noise by making the voltage of the signal big against the voltage of the noise. So distortion from noise Yes.

But the other thing is that you don't say what are you exchanging for what, many newer entry level stuff is 2V while better stuff is 4V so the 4V stuff may sound better because of that.

The line driver will not fix a poor quality HU sound.

im looking at going over to this unit, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27182_Alpine-INA-W900BT.html

and this is what i currently have

http://www.sonicelec...DEH-P410UB.html

i listen to alot of electronic music so keeping distortion down is important for speaker life right? i like dubstep

also i dont have that tuning tool, the DD-1 thing. best i can do atm is a multimeter to adjust the gains. if anyone in the area already has one and wants to help me out ;)
