PropertyCO
finally got my rubicon monoblock, right when i hook it up, with no load on it, it pops all fuses, i replace them, then it pops them all again, so i decide i'd remove the remote gain controller to see if that's what caused it cause i remember reading a thread a while back where they suspected the remote to be the problem, then replace them and the first one i put in makes a cloud of smoke come out near the positive terminal, i'm not happy. did i do something wrong or was it dead on arrival? i could've sworn i did everything right, i've been playing with electricity since the age of 10 so i'm no newbie to it, but come on! Guest
+ wire in the - terminal? a single strand of frayed wire in the wrong place (aka grounding out) can cause this also
PropertyCO
i feel like the 100 amp breaker i have on the 4g cable would've popped? 8ight
i feel like the 100 amp breaker i have on the 4g cable would've popped? Not unless your short drew 100 amps of current. A strand of wire or two would burn up before that happened. Quote I'm gonna hate
Wicks
Does the amp get hot? Take a DMM and measure the speaker output terminals, with no load connected. Do the same at the battery input terminals, with no cables connected. PropertyCO
i already took it out, but it was powering up for a second, then poping fuses.
