First Time Designing A 4th Order Box Need Some Critique

Recommended Posts

How does one determine how big to make the sealed area and how large and where to tune the ported area? Are you guys running formulas, guessing blindly, or are you using software? I have BBP6 and winISD on my other laptop, but its slow, so i usually just stick to my mac.

if you search around the internet you can find more info but from what I know you want a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio with sealed being the smaller side of the ratio and the sealed side should be the recommended size, and for port is should be tuned between 42-48hz depending on if it's a daily setup or spl

Thats why I suggested maybe doing a removable port so you can get you port tuning right. And if you decide to go with a 3:1 ratio that tends to make for a paekier box. So it would be less musical.
