_Vince
Story goes like this: we put a switch on my remote wire so I can cut all amps off with it and turn it on when I want. Few hours later, there was a high pitch sound and than 1 bass amp went into protect and at the same times my mids/highs aren't playing (amps aren't in protect). [4 amps (2 highs 2 bass): 1 bass amp in protect, other 3 aren't]) = remote ran to 1 bass amp and splits from there I check all my voltages/fuses: Constant is 12.5 without engine and fuses are good. Remote however is at ~11.9 at amp. Ran a new remote from radio to switch: still doesn't boost power; try connecting that new remote directly without the switch: still nothing. When I cut my engine off, even with that bass amp in protect, the subwoofers still makes a popping sound (been doing that since the install). I tried everything I could think of to try and fix it but I need y'alls help on ideas to fix this.

chronic2001
Might have fried your remote and I believe subs popping is a ground issue. _Vince
Did you run a relay on your remote? No, should I? I luckily have 1 left at my house if I do need to Might have fried your remote and I believe subs popping is a ground issue. Just run a whole new one all the way back? grounded straight to batteries, I think it's RCAs crossing with power wire.
chronic2001
No the ground I'm thinking have to do with grounding you RCA housing to cd player chassis or finding a better grounding point for your head unit. It could be to late to run a relay. If you damaged it then it is what it is. Might be time for a new deck. If you have another deck sitting around you could see if that turns your amps on. Just hook one amp up to check. I'm sure you'll get a few more responses from other people. HunterJohnson
run a relay and check ur grounds. The popping noise can happen from a ground off ur speaker wire. _Vince
Will check my ohms today, thanks! I was wondering if the 1 amp in protect will take out all the other amps with it. Because 3 of my 4 amps are not in protect but nothing plays except for the whatever is hooked to the headunit. I'm completely stumped over this; if my headunit's remote is bad, do I need a new headunit or can I relay it to ignition or ACC wire (my headunit is relatively new). PropertyCO
I'm sure you can power it off the acc wire, it's the same principle, and that's what we use for all our communication equipment. try taking the signal wire from the head unit off the amp and jump the power cord over and see if it goes into protect then. that way you can rule the head unit out completely. 1997 Ford Ranger 2 - Rockford Fosgate P3 600w 12s 1 - Soundstream Rubicon 1.1000d Pioneer Mids/highs Blacked out tail lights (removable, done with 20% static cling tint)
