Will this work? Please help

Recommended Posts

So my friend has a 04 Silverado and he has 2 12 inch kickers cvrs that he's wanting me to install in his truck. He's above 6 feet tall so his seat is almost to the back leaving me at about 7 inches from seat to back. I don't think there's enough room for both of the subs but here's the specs for space.

Use behind the seat and extend it and port into the centre console

His girlfriend sits in the middle seat seat and refuses to sit anywhere else lol. I was going to build a box for the subs in the center but that's out of the question now.

outer view can be changed if wanted

im not the experienced at box designing but i try and you got to start somewhere right?

hope this helps

The box looks like it would work but I'm not sure on the cubic feet needed or the subs. I'll have to look at the specs of the subs

I looked up specs for 2 12"CVR's and with the room you got this is as close as i can get.

XS D925
XS D2400
XS D3100
4 runs of 1/0
Mechman 270

What's wrong with that just tune it to the luck 33 and let her sit there

Where did you measure the depth? At the bottom of where the box will be or the top of where it will be. Just had to ask. Also, if they are the new cvr's , they have a mounting depthof 6 1/4 inches. So a 7" deep box will give you 6 1/4" depth to mounting them. So uh, yeah that will be close.

I measured closer to the bottom where the subs will be. It's a really tight fit but on the passenger seat I can adjust that seat if I was gonna do one sub and make a 1 inch mounting ring if that would even work

I was just worried about the incline of the seat back being closer than 7" Trucks are such PITA to do installs on. Nothing ever fits like you think it will.

If all else fails and you just cant get the sub in and get the depth you need see if he will entertain the thought of removing some plastic panels from the back wall of the truck and using the back of the cab as a back wall. I mean if you use a bunch of deadener and mayb...... no, ignore that, I'm getting ahead of myself. Best of luck with this.
