hapitec
Just bought 2 American Bass XFL 15 and I'm installing a mid gate sub box in a 2007 Avalanche and I can't find any info on box volume. I'm a cabinet owner, have been in the cabinet business for 26 years and have built a lot of boxes for employees and friends; they all sound good, but this box is for me and I want this box to sound and perform as well as they can. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
SnowDrifter
How much power are you running and what's your listening style? And out of curiosity, why did you like your own post? hapitec
New to the forum and made a mistake. I got a Hifonics ZRX 2000; hopefully this amp will get me by for a while. I listen to a wide range of music, but the majority will be hard rock or metal and rap.
pwdrblucivic
About 3.5 cubes each net will yield some pretty decent results..... Edited September 29, 2012 by pwdrblucivic
hapitec
Thanks for the response. I have been using Torres's to design a box and was using 3.6 cubes.

IH8PunkRok
About 4.5 cubes each net will yield some pretty decent results..... normally id scoff at this but op doesnt have much power so it may be a good idea mine did very well in 2.75 a piece but also had 2k each id say 3.5 is a good volume with about 120 sq inches of port Edited July 15, 2012 by IH8PunkRok Quote -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
teamace24
Yeah 3.5 at the minimum if you are underpowering. I have owned aq subs which are very similar to these and they have loved a lot of net volume per sub. I would do 4 cubes each net tuned to 36 hz and that will cover a lot of music easily. hapitec
I'm thinking 3.5 is a good number to start with. Like they say test and make your adjustments. I know the Xfl are rated at 1K rms, how did the subs like 2K?
teamace24
I know they are very well made getting loud is their purpose. If you are running 3.5 cubes youll be happy but give them their rated power or more at that volume. If you go 4.5 cubes each net like i did once, you can get away with a lot less power.
