CHILLYBEAR5504 Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Has anyone done a big 3 on a 2010 dodge charger (or similar year with the battery in the trunk) I'm wanting to do a big three because my headlights dim and I don't know what else to do. Thanks
Sean Sinha Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 It shouldn't be any different than doing the Big 3 on any other car if you're doing the fundamentals. You're just adding a couple of grounds and an alternator to battery cable. How is the alternator currently wired to the battery? Alpine CDE-164BT/Rockford Fosgate P400X4 Kicker CS 6.5" Components (Front) Kicker 6.5" Composites (Rear) (Running at -10DB for soundstage) RF P400X1 Monoblock 2x Rockford Punch P1 12" 4 OHM SVC running @ 2 OHM in sealed 1" MDF box.

Well the 2 awg wire that runs from my battery to the alternator turns into some 8 awg wire so I have heard on a forum. And I was just wanting to know if some people knew anything about this and could confirm it. Im sure that's why my lights dim. Another thing is that my factory battery ground only runs to the chassis, Should i just run some 0 awg wire from my battery ground to an engine ground?

Just run a fused 0G in ddition to your stock wire from the alternator to the battery, that's what you should be doing anyways. Ground your battery to a strut bolt for a solid ground. Then, add a ground from your engine to chassis, as well. This will give you very solid grounds.
