HatersGonnaHate
Ahh I gotcha... I misread your first post, thought you were just talking about building a 1/4 wave/t-line and going from there. Reading > Me lol. If I get some free time this weekend, I'll see if I can get that knocked out. Bump4life
i did 140.3 @46hz on a DD 2510 D2 SC wired on an M1c. box was tuned for daily at 37 hz. peaked at 46hz. box was 1.5 cubes net about double baffled. fired towards trunk lid about 3 inches away. so i guess try building a box with some port area. that usually works for the meter. make it efficient to get loud on that power. AMI CUSTOMS
Just in case you don't know what 1/4 wave theory is Measure from the mic location to the sub dust cap in ft. Take 1126/your ft number Take that number divide by 4 for your peak in he at your 1/4 wave. Tune to that number for starters. So here is an example measurement from sub dust cap to kick is 5ft 1126/5= 225.2 225.2/4= 56.3 hz This particular example that vehicle peaked at 57 hz on the meter. But was tuned at 48 hz to account for cabin gain which is this application was tested to be 9-10hz. A lot of vehicles have 10hz worth of cabin gain. HatersGonnaHate
AMI, thank you very much for the rundown! And Ray, I looked at the database and got some rough ideas that could be used as starting points. It's a 2 door coupe btw. rogue
had good results with subs up port back on the two door civic around 01 model i believe, also building the box wide and deep to get your desired volume keeps it from being excessively tall which would be good in a trunk car being that the seats folded down is only so big of an opening to the cabin. You dont want to block it off, Unless of course you are sealing it off totally to fire forward. oh and subwoofer on meter side of car can be good for a few tenths. Ray
You want a box thats as close to a cube as possible. HatersGonnaHate
You want a box thats as close to a cube as possible. That's what I thought, based off of what/how I've seen other people do theirs.... Then when it comes to porting, is it all external so it doesn't affect the interior displacement, or can it be inside, as long as I account for it and it leave it as close as possible to the 1 cube mark? AMI CUSTOMS
It can be internal, for a box as small you would need I would 100% run external aero port.
