CiviCity Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Hey guys, So not long ago I got myself a pretty small sound system for my car and a new battery. I'm running a JBL P1222 Subwoofer with a Kicker 10DX500.1 Amplificator. Recently I have been noticing white acid build ups on the negatif terminal on the battery. It wasn't there before the sound system install... This is kinda getting me confused to why it is happening and what could I do to prevent it or fix it? Thanks.
aerickson Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 It's corrosion i think. Use a skuff pad and it'll come off.

CiviCity Posted August 3, 2012 Author Report Posted August 3, 2012 It's corrosion i think. Use a skuff pad and it'll come off. The problem is that even when I clean it, it comes back in about 2-3 weeks...
Emmet Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 I know permatex used to make a red spray called battery terminal protector, havent seen it in a while though but I'm sure there is something similar, you can use bearing grease too to stop build up. Vaseline works too. Just remember to clean up the terminals before you put anything on to protect it. i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah.. mitchell830 Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 That same deal use to happen to me on my old truck. I had to clean my terminals like everymonth. I just kinda ignored it and cleaned them
