Try living somewhere where no one has heard of Sundown, DC, Skar, AA, DD, PPI, SMD, Kenetic, Mechman, Singer, I'll just stop now.

aaaaaand welcome to Pennsylvania. I HAVE heard one person who has heard of Sundown though, and the local dealers are too mainstream to know of these companies.

Try coming to Ireland... Where no one has heard of kicker or JL or rockford fosgate etc.

I could probably count on my hands the amount of people who know an alright amount of car audio within 100 miles of me.

how did you end up stumbling upon DC then? I only came upon it when I had a room mate (cashdollar2009) had DC lvl 4 XL 15 in his vehicle

hmmmm, I won't go to ireland, but I have a good friend going there 2nd semester this year for study abroad

wow lmfao most ppl in ny know about kicker.. that's pretty much it.. then you have those who think they know 'all there is to know about car audio' who only know about JL lol then i think there's a select few who know about DC, AA, Skar etc.. lol

but wow ireland? that's great news for DC! I came across DC when i was doing months of research before even buying a sub.. then i bought a L7 for temporary bass and later upgraded to DC

Though this thread reminded me of my friend who runs all JL Audio who makes fun of the DC Audio amps for being gigantic, and I tell him "Well, what, you expect a 9k watt amp to be tiny like your HD amps?"

Giant amps are sexy, makes them look imposing, and mean.

in my town they once laugh at my AQ amps and Fi subs.

and I was told to get something real like kicker or audiobahn.

The part I get the most satisfaction out of is when meet someone who paid Thousands for a shop to do a mediocre install with ok equipment and I blow them out of the water. When they ask who built my truck I can tell them that I built the entire thing. Its even better if they shop used good brands!

My favorite one to date would be a van with an 8 15 wall built in it. I had a friend call me to come down to his shop and meter it since I am the only one in town with a Termlab. The van topped out at a 151.7 at 46hz. The guy tried to blame it on his external EQ messing up, but I called bullshit on that one in a hurry.
