sundownz Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 The SA-10/12/15 SPL coil is simply an 8-layer flat aluminum USA made coil -- temperature handling is much higher. Raises the FS of the woofer; hence being labelled the SPL coil. They are fine for daily but have less bottom end and are ONLY sold on re-cones. The SA-8 has an SPL coil in D2 / D4 that is also okay for daily -- it's simply a 4-layer CCAW coil to drop mass... the D1 SPL coil is for burps only (very tight) and is an 8-layer flat as well.
