412 CVX Posted August 8, 2012 Report Share Posted August 8, 2012 I got these in the the mail today and decided to unbox them (steve is awesome). video here: (i have a cold, don't make fun of my voice lol) I didn't get a chance to listen to it much, but unfortunately first impressions weren't the greatest. The quality isn't the best; the low notes aren't bad on low volume, but when you turn it up it gets pretty muddy. The volume isn't all that impressive either. I tried my phone and my buddies and we both had it turned up most of the way to get to a decent listening volume. there was a slight rattle when that volume was reached too. on the flip side, they definitely look cool and are pretty comfortable. I'll have to do some more testing with this and see what Ibleedmusik thought of his, maybe i just got a defective product. Again, thanks, steve, for this gift Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. Pics of the unboxing are posted below but first impressions out of the box are they do look great and they are very comfortable. I tested these extensively on multiple sources and on low volume unamplified they sound decent bass notes are lacking and I get the same muddy sound and distortion when I crank up the volume. They definitely look cool as hell so they get an A+ there. I amplified them using a headphone amp and they did sound a bit better and I also tested them on my phone, iphone, home system and laptop. Again they sound decent on low volume but when you crank them they lose audio quality fast. I had a chance to use them on my flight to Dallas and after 2 hours of listening my ears didn't hurt from the cushions and aside from the volume issue I was happy. They definitely block outside noise pretty well. I use them now at work since I usually listen to audio/video clips on low volume anyway.
