Alpine type r With Fosgate amp

The other day I traded my old Ipad for a Rockford fosgate 1500bd amp ,two alpine type r 12's and box .

Loving the system so far I big question on here is with the subwoofers and single ported box what is the best way to hook my amp to them . I'm new to the whole ohm's law and how the math works. I noticed the subs got a little warm when I played the for even 5 minutes not to hot.

Also being I'm here I have the system in a 1999 toyota 4runner suv what is the best way to have my subwoofers , up, down , facing me or the back . I was thinking the back would be the best thing .

Depends on the impedance of the subs. I'm guessing dual 4 ohm subs? Wire the subs to 1 ohm at the amp. And how do you have the amp gain set?

I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me.

They are both dual 4 ohm subs, I have the gain set about half way and the punch eq a little less . amp is set to like 40 hz . So to get the subs down to a one ohm load , how would I wire them in.
