so i was in the hospital a couple weeks ago because my lung collapsed and i was reading online that loud music could cause it to happen so i asked the doctor if that is true and he said yes. now i either have to sell my subs or will reconing them down to 12s make them not hit as hard so it could be tolerable so i guess my question is will 2 12 btls hit less hard that my 2 18s and if so if anyone knows the recommended box size for 2 btl 12s

Currently in a build

2 BTL 18s

1 AQ 2200

4 Kenetic hc 600s

Pioneer AVH-P2300 (next purchase)

High output alt 150 amps

I seriously doubt you had that problem because of your 2 18" BTL's

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

i doubt it too.. Steve would have been dead by now with 4 18's smd and many others as well. some even have 10 18's

Maybe I did misread, but I still doubt it will happen. If you feel like it's going to happen again, just turn it down. No sense in spending money to downsize when you have a volume knob.

u fail at reading he never claimed to have his lungs collapse because of bass, he said will it cause it to happen again with bass, to which I have no answer too im no doctor nor I doubt anybody on this forum is, if your health is your top concern dont turn it up full tilt all the time, plus 18s dont hit harder then 12s on just cone area alone I seen 12s version of woofers be way louder then the bigger cone woofers before

you fail at reading too

i was reading online that loud music could cause it to happen

you are correct, he dont claim thats the reason why but he was told it could cause it(doctor told him that)

My lungs have not collapsed, and I just took 4 18" BTL's to the face.

My advice, get a new doctor, you're current one doesn't know shit.
