That sub won't do shit lol. I can almost guarantee you'll hardly hear it.

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

Just remember whatever you build that the box will have to be bigger and tuned lower to get the response you're looking for in a room.

I found most of the stuff on craigslist to build the one in my house for <100 (the subwoofer anyway)

Some divorcee was selling off her hubbys old home theater equipment. I got a full set of polk speakers, including subwoofer with an onkyo reciver for 100$, I looked up the sub when I got home and new, just the sub was 350. Craigslist rules.

The lower tune is mainly for movies. If you're just playing music, tuning 30-35 is pretty optimal.

Don't know if you ended up getting something but for $250 you get the Onkyo name that Wasted Talent was talking about (I also own an Onkyo and it has more stuff to do with it than I can come up with ideas) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882120200. full 5.1 which leaves a lot of room and options to upgrade in the future, and it is probably satisfying enough for your entry level budget.
