Vids?

Here you go, finally got around to doing a video, albeit a crappy one for now. No editing, just run and gun!

looks good so far, imagine this on some real power with the electrical to back it up haha. We have iasca idbl and bassboxing north american finals (satellite location) and west coast 3x finals over the october 6-7 weekend up at Sound Werks in Marysville. Thats the next I know of relatively close by, there might be something else between now and then but I dont know for sure

Cool, Saturday would be no problem to make, but not sure about missing football Sunday. Can a guy still compete on only Saturday, or do you have to be there both days? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I've only been to a couple of competitions. That was many years ago and only as a spectator. Would I need to preregister, or can I just show up and pay to enter? And what class or classes should I enter? I'm wouldn't expect to win anything, but it would be cool to see how my system stacks up against similar systems build by people who know what they are doing.

I just bought an XS D3100 and I will have a Mechman 270a by then, so electrical will be better soon. Not optimal by any means, but decent. And I MIGHT have double the wattage by then also, either in the form of upgrading to a T2500 or adding a second T1500. Still up in the air on which route to take.

If you make it down to finals, I'll be excited to see it!! :)

Btw, if you do 2 amps at 2 ohms each, you will most likely experience impedence rise that would be much higher than 1 amp at 1 ohm.

For example. If you had the 2 1500's at 2 ohms each and you were rising to 6 ohms on each amp (keep in mind music is dynamic and this is an example) and were getting about 750 at each amp. This equals 1500 in a perfect world.

Now say you wired the 2500 at 1 ohm and experienced rise to 3 ohm reactive, you would have around 2000 watts..

Keep in mind that this was an example, and it's just something to think about when making your purchase.

I think either amp route is a good one along with all those electrical upgrades. I just don't agree on the sub choice. Sick score and sweet box!

Yeah, I hadn't thought about the loss of wattage through impedance rise. That's a good point. Between that and the ability to strap it later if I decide to switch subs and go REALLY BIG makes me think the 2500 may be the right choice for me. I bought the 1500 through Foss Car Audio in Tacoma and they told me they'd give me full credit on the 1500 toward a 2500 if I decide the 1500 isn't enough. They are giving me 30 days to decide as long as the amp doesn't see any cosmetic damage.

Have you checked out teamnwspl?

It's a great group of people in the area and we all go to comps and hang out every once and a while. If you come down to finals I'm sure you would be seeing a lot of us there!

But yes, I most certianly would go and get the 2500. Just make sure they are not charging you out the ass for it. A local shop near me in Wenatchee matches online prices so thats usually where I get my gear.

Yes, I visited the site a couple of times and read some threads. As far ap price goes, I don't mind paying a bit more than online prices to support a local business as long as they try to be somewhat competitive.

Well, I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I made a mistake on the SPL score. I went by what I was told was a 22hz tone on a borrowed test tone disk. I made a test tone disk of my own today to do more testing and found that there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that the test tone I hit 146.7 was 22hz. No friggin way. I'm guessing it was 30-32 hz based on where the system seems to hit the hardest. Serves me right for using borrowed stuff.

Sorry for the misinformation fellas, it was definitely a 146.7, but not at 22hz. I didn't mean to mislead anyone or try to make my stuff seem better than it was.
