Captain Stupid
Sorry to wake the dead here, but did you ever get a chance to meter it again with everything installed? Not yet. See my sig line for my best so far. I managed to score a best of 149.4 so far, but that was with the stock battery, stock alt and the cheap CCA 1/0 that is 1/4 the size of my new SHOK OFC 1/0. I now have a D3100 installed, a DC Power 270a alt, and some of the SHOK 1/0 under the hood. Just with those changes, you can actually HEAR a significant improvement in how loud it is and more importantly how hard the snappy drum sounds hit. Clamping the RF T2500 amp before and after yielded results around 1900 before and 2600 after. The amp is rated at over 3500, so I am hopeful I can reach higher with more improvements. I still need to switch out the 10ga speaker wire for the 8ga I just picked up and I need to replace the run of cheap CCA that goes from my inline fuse holder to the amp with the SHOK stuff. I'm pretty sure I'll be hitting a solid 151-ish, but it doesn't count until its metered, right? So my official best is just 149.4....,,so far. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ

Captain Stupid
P.S. where did those SX 18s go? I happen to remember an agreement :/ I still have them in there. Always have been, other than borrowing a pair of AQ 18s from Mitch (mrd6) for a weekend to try to see if I could score as high as possible. Those SX subs are some great speakers! Still enjoying their sound and they are holding up really well to being pounded daily at over 2600 clamped watts. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ
ImBlackDragon
Last, but not least, the port floor as it will look from the rear of the box. This is the part people will see when I open the hatch door to the back of the Escalade. The carbon you see on the vertical walls is just single layer at this point. Still has four layers to go on the outside of the box, so I wasn't too concerned about my brush sheddings staying in the resin. Also, I know the floor piece doesn't look 100% right, but that is because I still have one final piece to put in that will cover all of the seams. That will be one of the last things I do and it will overlap the CF that goes over the outside of the box. That's why you see seams right now, but you won't later when things are finished...... so let me get this right you have FOUR LAYERS of CF on the inside and out??? Will it effect the sound quality if you only do one layer and if you use 3/4" MDF??? I realy want to do this to show off but i know this is way out of my league and my mom would not DARE let me spend as much money on this project. <script type="text/javascript"><!--google_ad_client = "ca-pub-9419194237374196";/* car audio */google_ad_slot = "1529947055";google_ad_width = 728;google_ad_height = 90;//--></script><script type="text/javascript"src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"></script>
