Dimples?

Ok I am adding flares to my ports I see that several ports now have dimples how much difference do they makes or should I just stick with the normal flared ends?

don't dimples add turbulence? I thought that is why they were on golf balls. Seems you would want to avoid turbulence in a port. but that just a guess.

From the info I have gathered so far the dimples actually reduce drag thats why they have them on golf balls

so i read up real quick. they create turbulence around the golf ball, which reduces drag.

I was looking at ports at percision sound and they are offering dimpled ports now so I thats what got me wondering and thanks for the link will read up

Didn't some of those newer Lincolns or Cadillac have dimples on the bottom panels for aerodynamics? So that they get better fuel economy. From what I remember about golf balls, is that the dimples are there to help the ball cut through the air for more distance. I am unsure if it would help, but if you can easily do it, try it, or make it interchangeable so you can see if it even makes a difference.

EDIT* after reading the link above, I believe that dimples may not help that much, unless you need to move something through the area, such as a golf ball. Also if you are making turbulations that mess up air flow wouldn't you need to make your port bigger to allow the same amount of air to move through, but easier. To be honest it sound like a lot of work and thinking for something that probably not make that much of a difference.

Well been looking around and reading they are supposed to add .4 to 1.1 dbs depending just the dimpled vs. smooth

yeah but then I am out the 60$ if they dont work heh I was hoping someone around here had tried them lol Trying to hit a 145 on 500 watts have a buddy with a TL and we are going to do tweaking this weekend and this was going to be another thing to use.
