Or is there a way i could use an alternator from a different vehicle and hook it up in my car? We are revising the catalog and welcome inbound calls from Monday to Friday, 8:30AM to 5:30PM Eastern Standard Time. With regards to the inquiry, In the 2000 3.8L and 4.6L SOHC we do make a 270 amp model. In the 4.6L DOHC it's a 220 amp. As far as using another alt from another vehicle, if you could convert it to a single wire powered unit, and could creat a bracket with which to mount it, you would be fine. If you want High Output and an alternator that is a direct bolt on replacement with plug and play capability, that is where we come in.
