REaudioBuff Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 I need to recone my 15 to an 18 here pretty soon lol. How easy are these to recone? Do they send glue with the cone? 1 Crossfire XS v2 15" 2 Deka group31a's 1 XS Power D3400 (under hood) 1 Addictive Audio 500.1 1 Rockford 3sixty.2 4 Crescendo pwx 6.5s 2 Pyle Pro Super tweets 1 Crescendo 1000c4 Kenwood excelon x494 Head unit Big Three upgrade All 0 gauge of course 1 4.56c^ft box @28hz (New Best official db score= 151.2 @ 36hz)
Hunters21w Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 Let me show you just how easy it is! If you ask they can send you ca glue and activator. Out comes the motor ready to be outfitted! Test shims, 6 pieces of computer paper. Glue time! Do or die! Pics thanks to my Gf Recone getting dropped in Shim going back in to evenly space the coil She's in! After activating the glue, apply evenly spaced weight on the cone. I usually just put a piece of wood on top and then any weight that's nearby. Whether its an amp or a cat.. Or both. Doesn't really matter I haven't decided if I want to do direct leads like my others or use the terminals. Tomorrow I will glue the cap on. 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400

Hunters21w Posted January 21, 2013 Author Report Posted January 21, 2013 Thanks brother, gets easier with experience but still nerve racking. Only get 1 shot! Lol The hard part is over, the tinsel leads are no big deal because you can take your time and you can always redo them. The cap is more of a finesse thing 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400

REaudioBuff Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 Thank you sir!!! I'm bookmarking this page for sure just for a reference. That's awesome that you posted those pics for real. Great job on it by the way and what are the real benefits of direct leads? Do you just use bolts on the box to connect everything that way? Oh and should you use a bunch of clothes pins around the surround and spider or does that weight really do the job just fine? 1 Crossfire XS v2 15" 2 Deka group31a's 1 XS Power D3400 (under hood) 1 Addictive Audio 500.1 1 Rockford 3sixty.2 4 Crescendo pwx 6.5s 2 Pyle Pro Super tweets 1 Crescendo 1000c4 Kenwood excelon x494 Head unit Big Three upgrade All 0 gauge of course 1 4.56c^ft box @28hz (New Best official db score= 151.2 @ 36hz)
Hunters21w Posted January 23, 2013 Author Report Posted January 23, 2013 No problem man, I was thinking about taking a vid but I've never edited in my life so it'd be kind of long lol. Direct leads are just easier for me. I can connect all the subs with some wire nuts and its a done deal. You can use terminal bolts on the box or just straight wire to the amp. Out of the 5 or so I've done, I've just used weight. Clothes pins work just fine though if you want, or any other clamp for that matter. Lemme know if you have any other questions man, good luck! 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400
GiAnT4LYFE Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Great build bro!! Really liking how its coming along.
Hunters21w Posted March 9, 2013 Author Report Posted March 9, 2013 Thanks brotha! I've been too lazy and it's been too cold to build another box for the 4 but that's about to change. Within the next week I plan on cutting. How hard was it to install triple alts on yours? Hoping I won't have to modify too much. That'll be my next purchase, triple kit. 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400
