Lots of woofers model like crap on misc programs such as winISD or BassBoxPro, you dont even need a 4th or 6th order to make them model so bad.... This is where a good box designer that has built and designed lots comes into play.. When you have excessive experience in what you do and messed around with many similar things you can get the feeling if it will work or not. This reason is part of the reason why I dont trust to many of these so called "designers" on the internet... Im sure you guys all know the type Im talking about, that post sketchup pictures of boxes all the time and they look cool, but how many of these are actually built? Slim to none, and if these so called designer ddesigners do build a box you end up seeing their true craftsman ship. Screws so close to each other they weaken the wood, cuts so wavy you have quarter inch gaps, and so many other things that make you sit there and go ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Than you get people making posts like this one, where they poster is 2nd guessing the designers work, it turns out to be a free for all... How some people can trust their stereo gear to some peoples work is beyond me. To each their own I guess, but this is the main reason why I only design what I build, and build what I design. This way the pieces are assembled in the fashion needed, and I dont have to wonder why someone did it this way when I could do it another way that could be better and easier. Theres not even a hand full of people I would trust with my gear, and at times they even have flaws from time to time, because no one is perfect.
