I here people say they have a level 3 with a level 4 coil or a 4 with a 5. I know i sound like an idiot but what does that do

You can get the coil upgrade for the Level 3s or 4s, it just gives you a better coil that will handle a bit more power. It doesnt change the sub, just the soft parts. Personally if I were going to buy a Level 4 with XL upgrade, I would just spend a little bit more and get the entire XL sub.
