Joe X Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 i can see a few reasons why not to go with that idea. even with bracing in there, it's way too big and it would still be tuned higher than 34 Hz Got that all wrong lol, here what it meant to be:
Joe X Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 I was thinking more along the lines of this: If you are willing to shrink down the baffle and have a partially external port then something like this. Sure you can't shrink it down more? In any case look into engaging the subsonic filter and set it very near the tuning frequency. Still think the 12s version I posted would do better but all comes down to what you are wanting of course.
412 CVX Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 We still talking about a pair of tens? Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
TylerParrish Posted September 6, 2012 Author Report Posted September 6, 2012 We still talking about a pair of tens? yes, I'm tryin to get it don to 3 cubes with a 6 inch aero but i just cant, wanna take a try at it? TylerParrish Posted September 6, 2012 Author Report Posted September 6, 2012 port to the side. you have more width that way. I know, but i was gonna seal it off......, that's the only reason i keep porting to the front What the f**k is an appropriate signature supposed to look like?2013 Kia Forte Koup Pioneer AVH-X4600BT iDMax 12 DD M1c @ 2 ohms Rockford Prime 200.2 Pioneer 6.75" Comp Set XS S3400, D2700 Project DB Battery Terminals Axxess ASWC Stinger HPM Everywhereeee 90 Sq. 412 CVX Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 well you certainly don't need 50 square inches of port. around 30 square inches should be plenty. Just shrink the depth and width till you get the right volume. Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. Maybe I just can't have an aero port in this application What the f**k is an appropriate signature supposed to look like?2013 Kia Forte Koup Pioneer AVH-X4600BT iDMax 12 DD M1c @ 2 ohms Rockford Prime 200.2 Pioneer 6.75" Comp Set XS S3400, D2700 Project DB Battery Terminals Axxess ASWC Stinger HPM Everywhereeee 90 Sq. 412 CVX Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 Porting forward with an aero doesn't work very often in trunks. If you just need a couple extra inches, you can try a pair of 4" ports, rather than a single 6" otherwise if you have to go slot, here's some rough numbers for you. box dims. 12.5 high, 30 wide, 21 deep. 1 extra baffle port dims. 11 high, 3 wide, 26 long that's 33 sq inches of port net volume is ~2.4, so 1.2 per sub tuning @ 33hz If you really wanna do an aero though, consider porting to the side. seen plenty of setups like this, and they usually do pretty well. Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.
