H/O alternator question

I have a 99 silverado 1500 5.3 vortec and I was wondering is there such a thing as to many amps? Im still saving up for another system but id like to know just to be educated. I'm thinking about doing 2 lvl 5 12s on a 7.5k amp in a console box. But nothing is for sure yet. I've also been looking at dc and mech man alternators.

Whaddya mean too many amps? Like the output of the alt? Go as big as you can afford, you'll only pull what you need.

Yea I was talking about the output of the alt.

From what I understand, say all your electrical needs are only 200 amps and your alt is 350 amps. Logic would say too many amps from the alt but, as 8ight said, you only pull what you need. The alt won't produce 350 amps and fry everything. So go as big as you want or can afford.

And just throwing this in there since many don't know, also do the big 3 if you haven't. The h/o alt would fry the stock wiring. Not meant for that many amps.
