Isobaric 4th order?

So I've had the isobaric push/pull setup in the truck for a little over a month now and I'm really loving it. It just straight murders the lows. I don't know how either, these subs are only rated for 250 Watts each. I tuned the box to 33 Hz and WOULD have went lower if I could have. I was looking to have a very efficient design which I definitely do. It's got great output from about 28-55 Hz.

So I've been thinking about making a center console where I could do tons of things with it. I could hide a Group 31 battery in there, get some cupholders action back, french my amps in, and MOST importantly, I could dedicate like .50-.75 cubes to a sealed section of my sub box. I could still keep the push/pull design, but rather than just having my one sub out there inverted, ass out, I could utilize that rear wave and get it in the enclosure.

So my truck is a regular cab GMC Sierra, and the box is behind the seat. I've got 2 3" PVC ports that fire into the B-pillar. I would be shortening the ports quite a bit, since a 4th order would be tuned significantly higher. To make up for losing some port area, I've run some numbers through Torres and I could bump it up to 2 4" ports and get the port area per foot up since tuning could be in the mid to high 40s.

So finally here is my question: Is it a good idea to try this 4th order idea in a regular cab fullsize pickup? What would be a good tune to shoot for to get a flat response? Sealed to ported ratio, 2:1? Just wanted some input on what might be a good idea or I would be open to other suggestions.

The current equipment is as follows: 2 Crossfire DB10 subs(250W RMS) and a Fosgate T1000bd(black box style). I would be VERY willing to throw some subs into this setup that had a low Fs, as I think they would respond very well to the environment of a 4th order. Skar is one brand I would NOT be opposed to running in a setup like this. Any other suggestions on subs that would like a 4th order push/pull?

with you current box you could try and keep what you have and toy around with different sealed boxes, in the arm rest area,

3:1 is what i like but 2:1 is ok but just play with it,

if you have the space even toy around with a 6th and port it,

and easy way to test with out building 20 boxes, and only build 2

is build a 1 big box, dont worry look or shape but with only 5 sides (not 6)

get some plumbers kitchen sink fome and some angle iron

screw and stick the fome and angle to the 6th side, so you can seal it over the sub and use the angle to hold it down

and slowly fill it up with scrap offcuts or and thing solid until you get the sound you are after,

you can also do the same with a 6th order

use the same size and length port already in the other ported side of the box,

and external run the port temporary

and buy shrinking the net youll increases the hz of the box

so just add scrap or anything solid to fill the void, until you get the sound your after

once you have what you want, meserure what the volume is and build a nice box with thoes specs.

Bump for anymore input. Maybe I should just keep the box, glass the inside and throw some NASTY 10s in it? I'm pretty damn pleased with the frequency responseof the box but want something that'll handle gobs more power. I've gotta get more output from this box, I know it's capable with the right subs. I'm open to suggestions.

Why not just give the SKARs a try in your curent box, if you dont like how it sounds make a new box.

Haha, I'm stupid. I wasn't thinking about IN person. At some point we could definitely do a smal demo. I'm REALLY wanting to get a sub that could make the box shine. This setup has more potential than the setup I had with an L-port and 12s in too little space.

I may be wrong, as that happens all the time. But I thought an isobaric meant that there is a small sealed section between the subs, with one being push and one being pull? So how would one even do an iso 4th order? The backside of one sub in a sealed section, and the backside of the other in a ported?

Sorry, I'm just confused,

Also, I've been trying to decide whether to do a 4th order with mine, or an iso 6th. But I don't know anything about them, what tuning they like, etc. I don't even know where to go for help!

Anyway, let us know what you decide, and if you know someone who knows iso's let me know please!!!
