Damp pro on factory deadener?

Recommended Posts

after removing everything to install my damp pro i noticed there seemed to be some material on the floor of my car i think it is sound deadener.

so my question is do i remove it to put damp pro on the metal or lay my damp pro over the factory deadener?

im hoping jon will chime in, i spoke to him to see how much and what i should get for my lancer

i have 80sq ft of damp pro 5 sheets of llp 1 sheet of heatwave pro and 2 sheets of overkill

If its attached..lay it over it. If its not attached to the sheet metal..remove the factory deadener...install the aftermarket deadener and re install the factory over it. That way the aftermarket deadener can adhere to the body panels correctly.

depends on how into it you want to go. Really its best if its removed with damp pro put to replace it

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

I completely removed & replaced mine.

Hammer and chisel work.

Ground it all clean with a wire wheel.

Painted with POR15.

Then installed Damp Pro over everything.

In hindsight it was too much work. Today I would use some Spectrum or even Sludge.
