the1uwannab Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 I'm planning on doing 4 18's on about 20k or doing 8 12's on about 30k in a wall in my jetta i have about 33 cubes gross before any displacement i need some suggestions on what setup i should do and what subs i was looking at the dc level 6 for the 18's and the dc level 5, xl, or 4's for the 12's. What are some opinions on what i should do i'm stuck and i was planning to do this as a daily setup.
soundstream15 Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 mdf or birch would be fine..chode build his out of birch and he says it's better from what i remember

ChevyBoy95 Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 mdf = more weight less cost birch = less weight more cost Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
the1uwannab Posted September 12, 2012 Author Report Posted September 12, 2012 is there a particular type of birch I should get?
the1uwannab Posted September 12, 2012 Author Report Posted September 12, 2012 I'm looking to do this as a daily setup so I'm looking for more sound quality than anything i just is there a difference in sound quality from these different woods from those who have used them?
TylerParrish Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 haven't personally used both....some say they like they way MDF sounds, some say the like the way Birch sounds, some can't tell a difference in the 2.
