banginAltima
I went from a 5.1 cube box with two 4” internal aero ports tuned to 40 Hz peaking at 41 Hz (144.2 db on the dash) To a 5.1 cube box with four 4” internal aero ports tuned to 36 Hz peaking at 41Hz (145.0 db on the dash) To a 5.6 cube box with four 4” external aero ports tuned to 35 Hz peaking at 41 and 42. (145.4 db on the dash) Question 1 How is this possible that I am still peaking at 41 Hz when the tuning of the box has changed? Question 2 Why am I peaking at 41Hz and 42Hz? 01xtreme
Resonant frequency of your car maybe? exactly, that is the resonant frequency of your car, and boxes generally tend to peak out a few hz above their tuning frequency Quote My System: Pioneer AVH-P3200BT 4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors) 8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash) 1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs) 2-18" BTL's (for now) Crescendo 3kwp (for sale) Complete rebuild coming soon...
