Quick question about "phase"

I finally installed my system today. Wired up basically exactly the same as I had it before. Except I had an audioque1200 and now Im running a crescendo bc2k. Well I got it playing and noticed that the subs were moving in and not out. So I switched the phase from 0 to 180 and now they seem to be working properly. My question is why do I have to have my phase on 180 if my subs arent inverted? Is something else wrong?

One thing ill add is in my previous system I had a wire from one + on the sub hookd to the other + and 1 wire ran to the bolt on my box. Now I just ran a seperate wire from each + to the bolt, vica verca for the negatives aswell. Could that have something to do with it? I have 2 d4s wired for a 1ohm load (or so I thought) correct me if im wrong. And if you dont get the picture on how its wired i can post a little diagram

It just means that when you hooked up the subs, you switched the +/- this time when you installed them. Keep it how it is and youll be fine.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

Sorry for questioning, But what do you mean by switched the +/-? Im 100% sure that I hookd up + to + and - to -. The only change was an extra wire. So instead of having a wire connected from the + to + on one sub and - to - on one sub then 1 wire each to the bolt, Im just running a wire from + to bolt + to bolt (SAME BOLT) and - to bolt and - to bolt. Just want it to be hookd up "right", I mean is there anything wrong with having my amp phase on 180? It wont hurt or change anything?

No, it's doing exactly what your talking about, just switching the +/- internally so that it plays in-phase with everything else. That is the only reason I can think for it doing that, somewhere, the +/- where switched.
