question on my amp

I have a hifonics bxi1610d amplifier... heres what i need to know.... Its 1600 x 1 @ 1 ohm, it has two speaker wire terminals.... so to get the amp to see 1 ohm with two subs running from it what ohm subs do i need??? If that makes sense to anyone..... I was told 2 dual 4 ohm would make the amp see 1 ohm, wire the subs for 2 ohms and hook them up to the 2 terminals..... This person said that the 2 terminal run into one inside the amp.... Anybody know?

you need dual 1s or dual 4s. and yes the terminals are all one inside the amp. they just put two on the outside for wiring ease.

wiring dual 4 ohms to 2 and hook em up then nate, that will split the 1600 to 800 right?

It's a bit more compicated! But yes, consider it as each of your subs gets 800W. In fact each of your subs take the same voltage because of parallel wiring and what is split is the output amperage. When we say that parallel connected speakers get the same power means that they get the same power vectorial and not cumulative. So if we have 200 watts in this particular impendance, then each speaker A B or C gets 200watt (and not each ONE gets 200watts, 200+200+200=600watt). Can't be so specific on what I mean cause of the difference in language. It's too difficult to find out what is the exact power each speaker gets and requires high level math etc...

If you get dual4 subs, wire them parallel each and parallel together. So you get the 1st sub, wire the positives together, wire the negatives together. You do the same with your other one. Your multimeter must read 2ohms per sub. Then you wire the one positive of the 1st to the 2nd sub and do the same with the negatives. After you wire them to the amplifier (positive to positive and negative to negative).
