Posted September 24, 2012 Author Report Share Posted September 24, 2012 No step down needed. i ran this as its own system. batts ground to alt mount or housing. nothing gets mixed with the 12v side at all. i had the alt on a switch in the dash to turn it on. completly simple setup and works perfect. No he means this was run in a closed system. Starter batt and stock alt for the cars systems then the 16v alt and 16v battery bank on a separate loop.
