IH8PunkRok
i believe sometime in march im gonna be workin on a new system. 2 15" Fi Bl's in a 7 cube box in the trunk of a civic. i wanted to make it musical and really nail the lows but i also didnt want to limit him to just music. so my question is how do i calculate wut size each port needs to be. or really just tell me everything there is to know about these ports -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
andym85
first off, are u able to calculate tuning and port displacement? if you can then it shouldnt be a problem... its just a matter of knowing the volume of ur enclosure after sub displacment. then just figure up the size of the port u want and subtract its displacement from the volume and find the tuning.....just do that for each port...not much different than any normal tuning...there is just no end correction most the time since swappable ports usually dont use a box wall as part of the port wall.... i likes me some audio stuff... andym85
like a slot port for instance...more often than not a slot port is on one side or the other of the enclosure and uses a box wall as a port wall, whereas a actual square port for example...like meade's...has four sides to it and doesnt use a box wall as part of the port, therefore there is no end correction calculation...make sense? i likes me some audio stuff... IH8PunkRok
ok i get it. can u test my calc with ur calc to see if its correct? 7.5 cubic foot box 30hz= 18h x 5w x 28.1d 40hz= 18h x 5w x 12.38d are those right? -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
