Hi guys, I need your help and knowledge on this. Can someone explain to me the differences between these 3 ducts? What is the specific use of each one, which performs best in music, which does a better SPL number, etc.

The driver's seat is on the right as we see the faces.

Thank you in advance!!!!

Is this for a wall?

Should be loudest on the meter with the port on the drives side but it looks like you can get more port area out of that middle design.

Might need a little more info.

Thanks for your quick answer man. Yes those are for a wall design and I am trying to figure out which port is for what use. So I am confused a little bit.

I've always heard port on the driver side for a wall. That's how mine is

What do we gain with more more port area (I mean, as far as I know, more port area leads to higher tunnong frequency so higher SPL but not good music) like the middle one for example and what do we lose if we choose it?

My current wall is with the port on the drivers side. I hit 155.4 on 48Hz with what you see in my signature, but now I am switching to 18's and I will need another face for my wall. That's my issue.

spl port driver side

music port on top

port should never be on pass side for loudness

That's what I also have heard. But what if I can't get enough port area on the driver's side?

With 2 18's you probably want to have 250 sq in of port or better if you are going for SPL. How much power have you clamped from that amp and what was your old box rise?

Depends on your box volume if you can achieve an SPL tuning of mid 40's in your case if your car peaks around 48.

You could always make a port plug that blocks off the lower section of the port therefore lowering your tuning for daily driving. Then you could have the best of both!!

That's actually what I had in mind.

My subs were wired to 0.5ohms and my amp's power is claimed to be 8310W @ 1ohm so I'm not quite sure about the power I used to get this number. I don't know the term 'box rise', propably I know it somehow, but not with this exact term (language difference). My old's wall port area was 207.4 square inches. And my box volume was (and still will be propably) 340liters (not net).
