thanks guys!! it's nice to get a little support to keep me motivated haha

and as far as covering it with carpet, i wouldn't give a good rep for Walmart! hopefully seeing their faces after hearing it's less rms then they're running is gonna be enough!

and sorry i haven't done up dates in the last couple days. i've just been working on sanding body filler corners and putting more layers on. (the pics would all look the same)

but i looked in my friends 4runner

this one

WP_001557.jpg

and he had a little 8" in the back panel in the boot and right when i saw it i immediately recognized the cone. it's the same model JL sub that im putting in my t-line but it's an 8"! so sometime soon i might be building another 8" tline for the guy and seeing how it goes. i put it in my 53hz tline and it plays a lot better then my cruddy kicker 8" free air. so im kind of excited to see how it would do in a 34 hz one. and i have some different ideas on the corners for it if i build it.

sorry just kind of fun to play with a 250rms 8".

i'll post pics of the two of them together once i get home from school today.

and should be done with the corners soon on my box!

finally have some more to give to you guys. and hopefully a lot more to come. im tired of not having this thing done.

got the last layer of body filler on and pretty much sanded!

i put on some pieces to help put the filler on.

WP_002092.jpg

WP_002093.jpg

btw i figured out i suck at putting body filler on :/ so sorry if this seems bumpy/crap. i've been having my friend do all the other ones.and actually i had him do the last 3

WP_002094.jpg

WP_002096.jpg

sanding the corner everyone's gonna see

WP_002097.jpg

also put on a little sealant stuff on the corner to help smooth it out. honestly bad idea. i think it looks worse then it did and i can't sand it smooth like i thought i was gonna be able to

WP_002099.jpg

WP_002101.jpg

here's the top corners before getting sanded

WP_002098.jpg

WP_002102.jpg

boards didn't match up so i was using some extra filler from doing the corners and rather then it go to was hardening i just tried filling it in.

WP_002103.jpg

also filled in the screw holes on inside the port

WP_002104.jpg

anyways, these were last night and i have some stuff from today but my phone is being stupid (or labtop) and they're not uploading to my comp. so i'll try to get them up soon

alright finally have the pics uploaded.

so first of, when i did my filler job i mixed it really cold and after a day of curing it still was just ever so slightly tacky. :/ so my friend suggested to give it heat,

so here's my attempt at curing the filler

WP_002105.jpg

anyways, after a couple hours it changed a little bit but oh well. i still got it sanded down even though it'd like stick to my sand paper and then.

FINALLY

started putting primer on the port!! so glad to be done with those corners!!

1st coat

WP_002106.jpg

WP_002107.jpg

somewhere between 2-3 coats

WP_002111.jpg

WP_002108.jpg

and pretty much done with the can. i think about 5-6 coats

WP_002112.jpg

WP_002113.jpg

and then done with the whole can

WP_002114.jpg

WP_002115.jpg

and so now im torn.....

guys does this look alright? i've honestly never done any painting before and well i thought it'd be a little more opaque after like 6 coats.

so, guys should i get another can and put it all into the port or does this seem like enough for primer?

It's getting close! And as for the port looking messy (which it honestly doesnt), i wouldnt worry about it. The inside of my port looks much worse and you cant really tell at all with the paint on it. As for the primer, it does look really light. I'd play it safe an throw another can on there.

alright yeah. that was my gut feeling. i think im gonna go and grab a can on my way home.

do you guys think i should try using my friends (high volume, low pressure) paint gun to do the color coats and gloss or just play it safe with rattle cans? i've never really done both and neither of us have use his gun :P soo idk lol
