Wicks
A broken solder joint really needs to be resoldered. It may work in a home environment but in a car with vibrations (road & bass) will cause it to loosen up again. A broken solder joint also has the potential for increased resistance which will reduce your signal. That solder joint will also gain contaminates over time which could corrode the connection. Further force on that broken joint could also damage the circuit traces and make the enevitable repair more difficult. How's the noise with it reinserted? Still on warranty? If it is, they should fully test it out and could fix any other potential issues it may have...assuming the monster cables didn't cause the issue..? If its not on warranty anymore, pop the back and snap some pics for a better idea of the damage.
