meade916
It is installed! The only problem i ran into other then it being a PAIN IN THE ASS, was that the adjustable harness doesn't really work properly. The car is preventing it from changing i believe. I am working closely with Mechman to find out why. I sent them the stock alt and the harness back for some further research. It obviously benched @ 15+v before they shipped it, its just my car is being stubborn. I still got an extra half a volt out of it and of course, 100 extra amps (@ 278). Did i mention it was a BIOTCH? at least its done and i don't have to hear about my huge system and stock alt, even if it was 180a Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! HunterJohnson
I had the same problem in my scion tc. anything that wasnt stock on the wiring harness set off my battery light on my dash. Only solution was getting a stock one from mechman that they had changed the guts out of. Stock I rest at 13.8-13.6 so you'll lose a volt but now no battery light Quote Scion tC SQ BuildiPad mini, lots of fabrication, daily drivenFord Explorer C Pillar Wall Build Just a cheap car to destroy with bass

meade916
my alt is a stock, upgraded ISF alt. And yes, same thing. With the harness, i get a light and no extra voltage. Without it, i am all good. 1/2 volt higher and 100 extra amps, but no 15v - hopefully we can figure it out. If not, it is what it is. My car is more for SQ then SPL anyway so 270a @ 13.7 isn't bad. MECHMAN
Glad its working for you Steve. The Alternator was a no brain-er to build because it was already set up for our Elite Series internals, but we kind-of had to make an educated guess on the AVBM, as none of our research sources had any info on the IS-F's computer interface. We will continue to do some more research and see if we can figure out a way to defeat the computer's control over the regulator. Watching my VM-1 (my volt meter), the way its acting, i can clearly see that the computer is taking over. At least i have an extra .5 volts and of course the extra 100amps more then i had. I will post updates when we figure it out. So far i am loving it though! My arms are trying to heal from all the cuts during the install though 1 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! crunkjuice1
Maybe a external regulator would come into play in this situation?
