Jordan Guess Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Working with 16H x 39W x 24D. Looking to get the sub and port facing to the seats, port in the center would be ideal but not a must. As much port area as possible, tuned from anywhere around 28-34 unless you have other suggestions. if you already have a sedan that has worked around these dims and had good results let me know. thanks guys! box designs would also be cool. edit: not possitive on what subs yet, but working with an AQ2200, so any sub thats around 1k rms each most likely.
Blue Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 What year jetta by chance? formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive this sux camel dicks
AI James Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 i wouldnt tune that low... as much port area as possible isnt very scientific it would help people help you if you stated which jetta or what subs and amp you have . also why center port. i own a jetta and have done alot of boxes in it
Blue Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Forum Asshole has MK3 in his personal collection, and I have a MK5. I have done my fair share in my car also. But Forum Asshole (aka James) knows what he is doing. formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive this sux camel dicks
AI James Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 without you even knowing what subs, i wouldnt worry to much about box
Jordan Guess Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 03 Jetta GLI, glad i posted, ya'll are helping me out already lol. what size and quantity do you jetta owners get the best results with? cause I might be able to do a singe 15, I just wanna use up the power of my AQ2200 as best as possible. But if I had to make a choice on subs, Ive really had my eyes on the AA havoc's , HDC3's and the american bass XFL's.
AI James Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 you do better with 2 12s then a 15 in that car and your looking at very different subs so figure out what you want then go form there and BUY SUBS then worry about box
Jordan Guess Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 alright man thanks, should i just pm you when i have them or make a new post later on? edit: should i be getting subs that wire down to .5 ohm or 1 ohm before box rise? sitting at about 14.3 volts at idle.
Blue Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 No need to go to .5 if you don't have to. 1 ohm is low enough. Why take the chance of voiding any warranty by going to .5. formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive this sux camel dicks
AI James Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 your sitting at 14.3 idle with no load on it. adding a 2krms amp differs from car to car. do you have an extra battery or High output alternator? the half ohm load comment in ways is smart and others not so smart. Smart because after rise your going to be near what your amps rating is or higher.. not so smart because it rapes electrical, kills the control properties of the amp and depletes your battery fast. i prefer havocs over either of the other 2 choices you threw up there but if money is a big thing chaos/ssd are pretty cheap and should do a great job on that amp as well.
