I took some old CVR 15's I had to a local shop (whom I hate thoroughly for this and many other reasons) because they have a "repair & warrenty service" dept. and are also a Kicker dealer, so I figg'd for sure they could repair my old cvr's for w/e a recone went for.

1: They told me no they are too old and niether they nor Kicker will do it for any amount of $$$.

2: They said "even on the new solokon design they don't recone em they just send out new woofers".

I was like wtf? that sounds pretty stupid on soo many levels, but as I said these guys are 'tards to begin with.

So following that lil shpeal I have a Q or 2 for Mr. Polecat I guess:

1: Could some old (2000ish? w/ the Big "K") CVR 15's be reconed?

2: What would a non-warrenty (I'd imagine...)...(as in if the sub was purchased from an unauthorized dealer/internet/ebay etc) recone on a L7 sub run?

Mind you I run kicker in my car currently, am an avid Kicker fan, and bring this up to craify only, not with any malice or hard feelings towards the company...just the dickheads at this particualr shop who I guess... lied to me? twice?

See all i said was i think there is louder and i dident know they got reconed. Every time i heard anythign about getting a blow sub taken care of as when then shipped you out a new sub. I doubt many people knew about that. I had CVR's and they took 800 watts each in a 6 cubic foot ported box daily. Kicker makes good products. As said earlier i did not know about kickers recone, thats news to me and probally many people on here. Dont come at me barking up the wrong tree ok TRACY!!!

Let me ask you.....Did you know kicker reconed your products? Every time a blow kicker sub was brought back to the dealer it was shipped out and the same day a new one was available. You were deffintally lied to from you shop

I did try the boxes that you guys recommeded and they did crap. Then i built my own boxes that were tuned different each one and what i suprise the extra half cube gave each sub more output. Honestly i even bought the prefab boxes that come wtih it. Same box that comes with the L7's they use for the CVR's? Doesent make sense either but i used it and it sounded like crap imo, and wasent loud at all. So dont come telling me that what i know works because i use it and what i have built. Im not meaning to be rude or talk "BS" according to you i have and use kicker products but i dident find the recommended boxes to be any good.

I was kinda trying to make the point that kicker is a good company and a lot of times it's REPRESENTED by douchebag venders/shops...being lazy I guess? I don't know why they would do it is my other point...? If I walked in to a "general audio repair" dept and asked about repairing some subs I don't understand why they would tell me not possible?

I woulda spent some $$ to have em reconed pending it was cost effective vs. buying new ones but they couldn't even give me a price quote to do it and said it was "impossible".

I thought that was strange but I dint have any reason to question it at the time and it was what I considered a long shot to begin with.

We don't keep recone soft parts, for more than 18 months after something is discontinued. So no, we will not have parts for the 2000 ish CVR 15.

On the new woofers, if you buy a woofer from an authorized dealer, and blow it with X amount of days, why should you send it in, and have us wait, rebuild it? We don't, we take that one, and send you a brand new one in it's place.

But then we DO rebuild those, adn sell them as bstcok woofers, which consumers can get them at a betetr price. they are all new, look, feel, smell brand new, just a used motor, at a far better price.

But the consumer, does get a new one in it's place, when sent in for warranty. why anyone would want a rebuilt one replaced with a new, is beyond me.

Now, if you KNOW yours is out of warranty, and want a new one, you can send that one in, and get a brand new one for a fee, with a new one year warranty, provided by us.

IE you have a blown, out of warranty L7 10"...you send it in, and $120(not actual prices, only examples), we send you a new 2008 model, with a one year warranty.
